This course is designed to acquaint the students with prominent intervention tools for encouraging sustainable behavior, with emphasis on Nudging and Boosting. During the course, the students explore the theoretical underpinnings of each approach, understand the principles that distinguish them from one another, and learn about various applications of behavioral interventions in practical settings. The focus of the course is on empirical field research dedicated to energy conservation, specifically electricity and water.
This course is designed to provide basic understanding of core JDM theories, and introduce the tools, used by researchers and practitioners to predict behavior. The seminar is partially centered on the appplication of classic JDM paradims on consumer behavior, both in terms of analysis and behavioral prediction. The attendees also learn to process complex psychological literature, and learn how to design their own behavioral interventions.
